Chennai Super Kings have slumped to their fourth loss in as many games. They were defeated by Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday afternoon, with the orange army cruising to CSK’s sub-par 155-run target with eight wickets in hand and four balls to spare.
Both CSK and SRH went into their fixture looking for their first win of the season, but it was the Sunrisers who came out on top. They bowled well to keep CSK under 160, never allowing their batters room to attack. Kane Williamson looked out of sorts with his 32 off 40 balls, but young Abhishek Sharma went after CSK guns blazing to score 62 runs off 30 balls. The 89-run opening partnership all but sealed the game, and Rahul Tripathi closed out SRH’s innings with some lusty whacks, adding 39 off 15 balls.
Not only is this the fourth consecutive defeat, but all four have been hidings. At no point have they been even close to a winning position, CSK are languishing with zero points at the bottom of the table, and that’s subject to change if Mumbai Indians bag their first win of the season against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The season is all but over but the defending champions. To have a chance of qualifying for the playoffs, they will need at least 8 wins from their next 10 matches, and it looks impossible if their current setup continues to play this way. They haven’t managed to redeem themselves so far.

Toothless bowling unit, ageing batting unit with no flair or whatsoever. CSK is everything that a top t20 franchise shouldn’t be.

Losing against SRH should be the final nail in the coffin for CSK this season.

Not backing Conway
Not having Chahar replacement
Only guy who was bowling good was dropped and even after that made pitch look like minefield
Not having wickets in powerplayThis is not the csk we know. Need some good strategy for rest of the season.

Jadeja knew how many matches CSK would lose consecutively under his captaincy pic.twitter.com/GB3FMXh4So
