Team India locked horns with the New Zealand cricket team in the second of the three-match T20I series in Lucknow on Sunday. It was a must-win game for Team India in order to stay alive in the T20I series.
Earlier, the Men in Blue led by Hardik Pandya lost the T20I series opener at the hands of Mitchell Santner and Co by 21 runs in Ranchi. However, the shots made a scintillating comeback in the second game as they went on to win the game by six wickets.
Talking about the game, New Zealand posted 99/8 in their quota of 20 overs. Mitchell Santner scored 19 off 23 deliveries including a boundary. On the other hand, Arshdeep Singh was the pick of the bowlers as he took two wickets to his name, giving away 7 runs in two overs.
Suryakumar Yadav reveals what Hardik Pandya told him before the winning run
Team India ran through a slow start in the run-chase as Ishan Kishan wasted too many deliveries. The wicketkeeper-batsman scored 19 off 32 balls before getting dismissed in the form of a run-out. After his departure, India’s run-scoring rate started to decline.
The game was stretched to the final over as Suryakumar Yadav hit the winning runs in the form of a boundary over the long-off. India won the game and levelled the series. After the game, Suryakumar Yadav revealed what Hardik Pandya told him before the winning run.
The flamboyant batsman said that before the winning run, Hardik Pandya came and told Sky one important thing. Hardik Pandya told the batsman to finish on this very delivery and which literally gave him a lot of confidence to smash a boundary in the penultimate ball.
The third and final T20I between India and New Zealand is expected to have plenty of interesting things in store for the fans of both teams. The series decider will be played on February 1 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

It is the mindset of batsmen matter in spin friendly pitches without a technique Sehwag scored highest strike rate against spin it is simply the batsman's attitude
