‘I will lean towards Kuldeep’-Aakash Chopra picks Kuldeep Yadav over Ravi Bishnoi for the ICC World T20 2022

'I will lean towards Kuldeep'-Aakash Chopra picks Kuldeep Yadav over Ravi Bishnoi for the ICC World T20 2022

Aakash Chopra has said that he believes Kuldeep Yadav should be selected over Ravi Bishnoi for the position of second wrist-spinner in India’s Twenty20 World Cup 2022 team.

It is quite probable that the Indian selectors would choose Yuzvendra Chahal as their first option wrist-spinner for the international competition. If they want to include another aggressive spinner in the team, they will have to decide between Bishnoi and Kuldeep.

What did Aakash Chopra say?

In a video that was uploaded to his channel on YouTube, Chopra discussed the potential spinners that India’s selectors might choose to include in their T20 World Cup roster. About the rivalry between Bishnoi and Kuldeep, he made the following remarks:

“If there is a competition between Bishnoi and Kuldeep, I will lean toward Kuldeep. I adore Ravi Bishnoi, but Kuldeep provides me with more diversity. If you are looking for someone who can take wickets, you should try a different left-arm bowler who has a little flight on their ball and a different bowling technique.”

Ravi Bishnoi has bowled well in the recent times for India

However, Chopra did concede that Bishnoi has done very well for the national team in the limited number of games that he has participated in. The former Indian opener provided more explanation, saying:

“Ravi Bishnoi, who is also competing in the Asia Cup, is a leg-spinner. You have chosen two leg-spinners, each of whom bowls in a somewhat different style. Since the World Cup, Bishnoi has participated in nine matches, during which he has collected 15 wickets.”

Bishnoi, one of India’s four spinners, was chosen for the Asia Cup rather than Kuldeep. India has selected 15 players for the tournament. Nevertheless, it will be fascinating to see him compete in the illustrious continental championship and count the number of games he gets to play.
