The Kentucky Derby is the famous Grade 1 Thoroughbred races in the entire world. This season will be the 147th running of the Kentucky Derby. However, it will be held on the first Saturday in May i.e. May 1, 2021 – in Louisville, Kentucky. The Kentucky Derby generally takes place on the first Saturday in May but because of the COVID-19 situation, previous year’s race was held in September. However this tournament will take place in US, at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.

From the year 1875,the Kentucky Derby has been held every year. Whereas ever year since1946,it has been held first Saturday in May; with two exceptions. However, in 1945 Derby was held on 9th June due to World War II and last year’s 146th Kentucky Derby was held on September 5th due to COVID-19 situation.

POST TIMINGS

“Run for the Roses” will commence from 6:44 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 1st 2021. Hence, due to all the pre-race hoopla, it is completely possible that the race will begin a few minutes late as per the scheduled. The upcoming 147th Kentucky Derby will pose on Saturday, May 1, 2021. Therefore, the match will outset at 2:30 PM ET. Therefore, the time differences may vary if you are living or traveling in another territory. However, the right time the officials have set it to approximately to 7:01 PM ET.

RACE INFORMATION

The 2021 Kentucky Derby is a chain of races through which horses are qualified for the 2021 Kentucky Derby will be scheduled on 1st May. However, the field for the Derby is restricted to 20 horses only, with up to four ‘also eligible’ in case of a late withdrawal from the field based on the points gained.
