Mbappe says ‘fake’ to rumours of him controlling PSG

French superstar, Kylian Mbappe, who recently signed a new deal with Paris Saint-Germain, that’ll keep him at the club for another three years. One of the big talking points that has followed since the deal was announced is regarding player power in football. Mbappe’s contract will not only make him the highest paid footballer in the world but also give him a say in how the club is run.

Since the 23-year-old Frenchman’s signing, Leonardo, the sporting director has already left the club, with manager Mauricio Pochettino’s and fellow superstar Neymar’s future also certain. Recently, the popular sports culture and news page SPORTbible posted the following: ‘Kylian Mbappe’s reign at PSG has started. He has named 14 figures he wants to leave the club this summer. Including Neymar and Pochettino.’

The Frenchman responded to the post with a ‘FAKE X’ to deny the rumors.


SPORTBible deleted the post after later but some Twitter accounts had already screenshotted the original post.

A week before the Champions League final, there was still no confirmation where Mbappe was planning to play next season. It was a race between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain with the latter coming out on top in the race. However, Madrid’s Champions League win will go a long way to restoring some pride at the club. The Los Blancos have always been home to the biggest stars on the planet but without Mbappe in the coming years, it will be interesting to see who they target to represent the club in the coming years.
