The squad announced featured some notable, and popular changes. Sanju Samson, who recently led the Rajasthan Royals to the IPL final, has returned to the side after being dropped for the South Africa series, while Rahul Tripathi earned his maiden-call up. Both had fantastic IPL seasons, and were rewarded for it.
However, the decision didn’t go down well with everyone. Gujarat Titans all-rounder Rahul Tewatia was apparently hopeful of a call-up, expressing disappointment with the announced squad a few hours after the BCCI posted it on Twitter.
Expectations hurts 😒😒

Tewatia has been a high-impact player in the IPL for the last three seasons. He exploded onto the scene with his blistering undefeated 53(31) in an impossible chase for the Rajasthan Royals back in 2020. He hammered his maiden IPL fifty against the Punjab Kings, and he pulled off a heist when the Royals needed over 90 runs from the last five overs.
This year too Tewatia has produced some sensational stuff for his new side, the Gujarat Titans. The most memorable moment was when he struck two sixes when 12 were needed off the final two deliveries of the innings, once again versus the hapless Punjab Kings. He has scored 217 runs in this edition at a very impressive strike-rate of 147.
The BCCI themselves didn’t respond, of course, but sympathy for the all-rounder turned into an out-pour on Twitter. Many felt that improving his bowling could improve his chances of making the XI.
You will play for India.

One of the reasons's for Tewatia's disappointment could be to do with the fact how he was named in the squad last year for the ENG T20s at home, but then he got injured, and ever since he has been out of the squad without any opportunity. On top of it, he had a good IPL too.

First Rana and now Tewatia. Main reason for their dissapointment is not non-selection it's the communication part. Like u said he was selected last year n then since that series he hasn't even b considered.

Yeah, that's the reason. But there are so little room and more importantly Tewatia hasn't bowl enough in the IPL. He hasn't bowl to be honest.

Wish Tewatia is allowed to bowl a lot more in the next IPL season and he makes the Indian side again.
Don't think the selectors would want a lower order batter that doesn't bowl (that was the role given to him in IPL). #INDvsIRE

Dear Tewatia..There are so many better cricketers who are perfoming in Domestic Cricket and unfortunatelly didn't bought by any IPL teams..Those cricketers desreve a chance more than you.
